Windows 10: Why does my windows 10 laptop keep dropping WIFI?

Hi - I have two ASUS laptops with Windows 10. My wife's laptop is a couple of years younger than mine which about 6 years old. My wife's computer sits right next to the modem and router. Mine sits about 10 feet away in the same office. My laptop keeps losing WIFI and I have to constantly reset it. And it's happening more often. My wife's computer is fine. Recently I put in a new TP -Link Router with four antennas. I thought it was stronger than my old router. I was losing WIFI with the old router too but as I said it is getting worse. So I don't know if there is something wrong with my comput

windows 10 10147 - Atheros Qualcom WiFi drops


hy,
i have question about 10147 release. does anyone else have WiFi drops? it happens like 5-10 times a day. usualy when i search for windows updates(maybe a coincidence?) or when i reboot the pc. then i troubleshooted a bit, i figured out that WLAN autoconfig service stops working. if i restart the service all starts to work again. how can i prevent those kinds of wifi drops? in the mean time, wifi button gets grayed out and the list is empty, like no wireless is in range (it figures .. since service is not running i guess). i checked the event viewer and saw that many services drops out from time to time including sound (realtek). any suggestions would be appreciated. got a clean install here.

Laptop Dropping WiFi

The last couple of weeks I've all of a sudden started having issues with my laptop dropping WiFi. I don't know for sure if there was an update recently that may have caused it or not, but it's very frustrating. Turning off the wifi adapter and back on
fixes it temporarily, but only VERY temporarily is many cases.

Can anyone suggest a solution?
