    Why does my Windows 98 monitor keep automatically turning off?


    Hey, can you guys help me I am trying to get my old Windows 98's monitor to work however 5 seconds after I power it on it switches off without displaying the PC's startup screen or anything else. I would like to know how to resolve this problem please.

    why not try to use virtual PC and emulate windows 98 on a XP machine or did someone already suggest that?

    Windows 98 problem

    Make sure the client for microsoft windows networks is installed for the adapter you are trying to use. If I remember correctly Win98 didn't come with it automatically installed.

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.
