    Why does my Windows Defender show I am not secure in one area?


    I have a New Desktop. First I got locked out of my Microsoft Account because where you verify by phone text had my old number in. That finally got fixed, but now one area of Windows Defender is yellow. It was not that way yesterday. I tried to turn it on and it won't let me, even with restart. Need help here. See attachment. NEVER MIND. APPARENTLY THAT PART OF dEFENDER IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR HOME VERSIONS OF WINDOWS, so I dismissed it.

    initiating a virus scan with windows defender on Windows 10

    • Open Windows Defender Security Center.
    • Click on Virus & threat protection.
    • Click on Quick Scan or see Advanced Scan.

    If you don't see the Windows Defender icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar, add it.

    Hi Stephanie,

    Thanks for your suggestion .It was quite helpful.

    It worked partially .Finally I have disabled Windows Defender Security but not fully .Windows Defender Security is still running in background
    .I can see it in the notification area.

    I want to permanently stop it from running .Please help me out.

    Speaking about the the antivirus software I am using, well it's " Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 ".
