    Why does Paint on Windows 10 take 3 minutes to start?


    I have used Paint mspaint.exe since Microsoft started. Lately it takes 3 minutes to startup. No matter which shortcut I use the time is still 3 minutes.Also, Paint does not show on the list of apps under settings and Paint is not available on the Microsoft store. MSPaint.exe is in the windows/system32 file.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Click on Start Menu

    • Type Paint

    • Right click on paint

    • Click on Pin to Start
    Check if it bring back MS Paint to start menu.

    Microsoft signals end of Paint program

    Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

    In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

    Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

    Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.
