Windows 10: Why does Search in Windows 10 not work with OneNote?

Quite simple... If I have information in OneNote, for example a notebook with a note that contains the words "Photosynthesis is a topic in Biology," then why when I press the Start button and enter the words "photosynthesis is a topic in biology" does Windows search not show OneNote as an option with results?


It will show web results, but I do not want web results... as a matter of fact I want to disable searching the web with Windows 10 because Bing SUCKS!!!


I just want to search my computer, but Windows 10 cannot even do that... why? I have 25 years of using Microsoft products and it just seems to get worse and worse.


I remember when Microsoft marketed Windows 10 on TV they hyped up the Start menu being back and it improving productivity. Yeah right!


Microsoft you suck! Your products suck, your company sucks, everything about your organization sucks.


How can a company who makes Windows and OneNote not make the two products work together? Microsoft fails at helping people use computers....

Onenote - search function quit working.

Did you make any changes prior to this issue?

Is this specific to OneNote or the same persists with word?

I suggest you to try performing Windows app troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the
  Search area on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Click on View all on the left panel of the Troubleshooting Windows.
  
• 
  Select Windows store Apps.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instruction.

Metro 2033 fails to work on windows 10!

I don't recall you mentioning any trouble shooting steps attempted though. At the very least, doing a quick search and checking threads like this very well may have solved it for you. It's listed as compatible on MS' list of games that work with W10 for a reason, because many if not most are able to get it running on W10. At least some level of workaround may be required, but some got it running without doing anything.
