Windows 10: Why does searching for a file not yield the file path?

I open file explorer, go to the location I know the file is located, then search for the filename. Simple right?Ok, now I would like to send that location to another person...nope, you're screwed. Instead of showing you literally where you are in file explorer windows decides to show you a bunch of gibberish that isn't transferable to anyone else.Example, I want to send someone this directory:G:\Tables\ESM\W1FIf I search up W1F in the tables directory, it takes me there. But when I try to copy that filepath...search-ms:displayname=Search%20Results%20in%20G%3A%5CTables&crumb=location:G%3A%5

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

 

Add a path to $PATH?

what exactly do you need to decipher about that path line? also, what are you installing? perhaps i can help.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think the purpose of the echo command was to check if ~/bin was in the $PATH file. My problem is that I can't decipher the output and I don't know how to add ~/bin to the $PATH file.

Just for clarification, the snippet of instructions I gave is just a few steps in the installation process. Nothing is actually supposed to be installed with those steps.
