Windows 10: Why does some, not all, of my email in Windows 11 Mail arrive as HTML code instead of text?

Some of my emails arrive as what looks like to me as HTML code with no text. This is true for all emails I received in reply to another question I submitted to the Community. I know the emails contain text because when I look at the same email on my phone and on my tablet the text is there.

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

This may be due to when Windows Live Mail is unable to read emails in HTML coded format. I would suggest you try the following steps and check if the issue gets fixed.

Method 1: Check settings.

1. Open Windows Live Mail and click on File > Options > Mail.

2. Now, click on Read tab and uncheck the box for
Read all mails as Plain Text.

Method 2: Add the sender to Safe sender's list.

Follow the steps below:

1. Open Windows Live mail and right-click on the email that you are unable to read emails from.

2. Select Junk Mail and click on Add sender to the Safe Sender's list.

Mail Displays HTML Code In Emails In Mail App

Thank you for the suggestions. I ran the trouble shooter but it found no issues. I also accessed the emails (including the one from which I pasted my sample) via the browser and there was no problem. This means that I can read all emails as web mail
with no problems and also using Windows Live Mail, again with no problems. It seems to only be the Windows 10 mail app that is struggling and showing most of my emails in the sample form, i.e. with the message buried in a mountain of HTML code. Curiously,
of the dozen or so that I have received in the last two days, all display correctly on web mail and on Windows Live Mail but only one, the automated one telling me of your reply, displays correctly in the Win 10 Mail App.

 

Windows 11 Mail App Not Displaying Message Bodies for all emails

The reply I got in my email from your reply to my comment can into Windows 11 Mail as HTML code instead of displaying it correctly. I had to open it in Thunderbird to be able to read it. I am using an AOL email and only have problems with email to that AOL email account. I have accounts on Yahoo, GMail and Comcast email and never have a problem with them in Windows 11 Mail. Only the AOL account shows HTML code for some emails. I find it strange that the reply which was sent by Microsoft does not display correctly in Microsoft Windows 11 mail.
