Windows 10: Why does the latest version of Windows 10 not allow a FTP connection?

I ran a clean install of the newest release of Windows 10 and I could not use an FTP connection in "This PC".Windows is not allowing the prompt for username and password to come up. Without the password, the FTP login is impossible.This appears to be a bug in Windows 10.The solution to the problem for those that are having this problem is as follows:In the search bar type in "Internet Options" Select the Control Panel Internet Options item Choose "Advanced" Make sure "Enable FTP folder view outside of Internet Explorer" is checked Make Sure "Use Passive FTP for firewall and DSL modem Compa

FTP connection

I cannot connect to FTP thru Filezilla or Dreamweaver Cs6. I have allowed FTP in windows firewall. I've tried several settings in Dreamweaver. My host site says the settings are ok. Can anyone offer any other suggestions.

 

Unable to establish an FTP connection

I have been unable to successfully make an FTP connection to a server using an FTP client in Windows 10. With FileZilla, I get the error message

"Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity

"Could not connect to server"

and with Cyberduck, I see

"Connection failed

"Connection timed out: connect. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured."

The connection is to allow me to manage a website, and I have done it many times, including I think from this Windows 10 computer.

The Network Diagnostics in Cyberduck simply said:

"Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem"

I’ve done the following

• checked the Cyberduck and FileZilla settings and procedures against their help pages
• contacted the webhost, who confirmed that there is no problem their end and I should have access
• tested the connection for myself with www.net2ftp.com
• contacted my broadband supplier, who confirmed that there are no issues with the router that may affect FTP
• added Cyberduck and FileZilla to the exclusions in
  
  • Windows Defender
  • Malwarebytes
  • Windows Firewall

I can’t think of anything else. Any suggestions?

FTP Client not connecting from Windows 7

I've a windows 7 machine, in which none of the FTP clients are connecting (Error: Timeout detected. ). I have done the following troubleshooting steps but still unable to connect.

• Checked the "Application layer services" is services. - Running
• Checked internet options & added passive ftp.
• Mapped the FTP as a folder to the system.
• Added FTP as an exception in the windows firewall.
• Checked the FTP Reg keys, replaced them with the working system.
• Tried with chrome, internet explorer & as windows folders.
• Checked with 3rd party FTP WINSCP/FileZilla to access the data.
• Hardware Firewall has exception set for port 21.
• Disabled internet from LAN network & tried with mobile hotspot.
