    Why does the Product Key, to my OEM Windows 11 Pro, not work?


    Back in 2022, I bought the OEM 64-BIT DVD of Windows 11 Pro, at the Micro Center Computer Store, to install on a BLANK, Formatted 2TB Hard drive. I loaded the Windows 11 Pro DVD, into my HP 17-BY0026DS laptop computer. And began the installation process to Put Window 11 Pro on the hard drive. The installation process finished, when the computer booted up, I learned, to my shock, that I didn't have Windows 11 Pro, as the operating system, but Windows 11, HOME!Can anyone at Microsoft, possibly EXPLAIN THIS?

    Upgrade a Win 10 home OEM to Win 10 Pro OEM with Win 10 Pro OEM Key?

    I recently purchased a laptop that has an OEM version of Win 10 Home on it.

    I verified this by using : slmgr -dli.

    Previously I had purchased an OEM Win 10 Pro Key.

    Can I use this OEM Win 10 Pro Key to upgrade the OEM Win 10 Home to the OEM Win 10 Pro.

    If so what are the steps to accomplish this?

    In addition, I assume that is this is possible, that the current product key will be updated to the new product key?

    The reason I am asking this is that it's my understanding that these product keys are tied to the bios on a name brand laptop.

    Can Windows 10 Pro Use Windows 7 Pro OEM Key?

    I purchased Windows 7 Pro OEM DVD while back.

    I never installed Windows 7 Pro OEM on a system.

    I just opened the Windows 7 Pro OEM DVD today.

    I downloaded ISOs for both Win10 Home and Win10 Pro both x64.

    I'm running VMWare Workstation 11 on my laptop which is running Win 8.1 Update.

    I installed Windows 10 Pro x64 in VMWare Workstation 11 on my laptop.

    Installation went fine.

    Problem I'm having is trying to activate Windows 10 Pro x64.

    I enter the key and it comes back with following message:

    The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one.

    Error Code:0xc004f050

    Can the Key from the Win 7 Pro OEM be used to activate Windows 10 Pro?
