Windows 10: Why does the win+shift+s shortcut no longer activate the snipping tool?

Up until March 2020 I was blissfully able to create friendly user documentation using the windows snipping tool with a win+shift+s shortcut to add helpful workflow visuals for my user documentation. It has stopped working although I can still open the snipping tool application and take screen snippets the long way. IMHO tech advances are suppose to make our efficiency better by helping create a workflow that both cuts down on time and produces a quality product whatever that may be. Windows Snipping Tool shortcut not working

The Win + Shift + S snipping tool shortcut opens up the widget but does not save the snip or open the editor, however the snipping app itself works correctly when opened up. The registry correctly points to user pictures folder; I took these images
and description of the problem using Win + PrtScn which works just fine. Suggestions would be appreciated as I'd rather not run extra 3rd party software to do something windows is supposed to do natively. Thanks!

 

Disable Snipping tool shortcut

Hello,

I am currently trying to assign a few shortcuts to a program, but I cannot assign for example Win+Shift+S for example because it is already assigned to the snipping tool.

I enabled the prevent snipping tool option in the group policy but now I still cannot assign the shortcut to another program, because I just get an error which says it cannot start snipping tool because of a group policy (duh).

Why is there no obvious way to simply REMOVE the shortcut assignment instead of preventing the program from running in the first place.

So when i use snipping tool (my favorite screenshot software) It says: Snipping tool is moving to a new home.

But will I still be able to use it?

I like snipping tool because it saves to my files.

The reason i do NOT like snip and sketch is because it saves to the clipboard

Another reason i dont like it is the shortcut. (win+shift+s) Its a long shortcut.

I like snipping tool because all i do is go to start and type the word "snip"
