Windows 10: Why does Virtual Disk Service turn off when disconnecting USB drive and Windows Defender...

Location of Virtual Disk Service.Control Panel\Windows Tools\Administration Tools\Services\Virtual DiskDefault setting is Manual but not started.When you set it to start it still turn off when USB is disconnected.Set it to start and Automatic same issue turns off.Every time you disconnect USB hard drive especially large ones like 5TB USB external Hard drive the virtual disk service turns off and you have to restart it manually as the service will not restart as stated even after a restart off the computer which is very annoy.Also Windows Defender Application Guard keeps crashing then says open

I suggest you to start the Virtual Disk Service and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.
• Type services.msc and hit Enter.
• In the Services Window, look for Virtual Disk service and
  Stop it.
• Restart the computer and Start the Virtual Disk
  service and set it to Automatic.
• Restart the computer and it check if it works.

Unable to install applications, Disk Management hangs connecting to Virtual Disk Service, shutdown hangs

So I have a mess of problems, although I suspect they all stem from one thing. The issues I'm facing with Windows 10 Pro 20H2 are:

1. Application installers hang forever
   
2. Going to Disk Management hangs connecting to the Virtual Disk Service
   
3. When I try to restart my computer, it just hangs with the rotating dots saying restarting
   
4. Whenever I try to do some things with disks, like writing an image file to a USB drive, it hangs
   
5. Trying to select a backup drive for a Windows 7 style backup, it hangs
   

So it seems tied into a problem with disk drives and likely the Virtual Disk Service and/or the Volume Shadow Copy Service. I've tried the various suggestions related to startup settings for VDS and VSCS, they both end up in a running state.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Virtual disk service wont start

Worked the first time i tried it then after closing the application and trying to start again the disk service would not start anymore.
