Windows 10: Why does window photos viewer skip back to the first photo when pressing next on a photo...

I have issues with microsoft photo viewer. When I click the next photo it goes back to the start rather than the next photo. For example, if I click next on photo fourteen I get photo one rather than photo fifteen. It then goes photo one, photo two and so on. I had this issue with my old windows 10 laptop which I could never resolve. I put it down to old software in my laptop and older version of windows. My old laptop could not run windows 11 as it didn’t have the necessary chip. However, I have now bought a brand new laptop that came with windows 11. It was a fresh install and I al

I just use the Photos app for a quick view, otherwise I use Adobe Lightroom to view and edit photos.

Just do not like this "new" photo viewer, it is just cumbersome to operate, lot of extra steps etc. I like the older Win photo viewer, however since JPG files are saved as "unhandled Extension handler finder", *Confused I need something else. Appreciate any suggestions that is not overly optioned, just a simple viewer. Tx

It worked great: It's easy to get the trusty old Windows Photo Viewer back -- simply open up Settings and go to System > Default apps. Under "Photo viewer," you should see your current default photo viewer (probably the new Photos app). Click this to see a list of options for a new default photo viewer. Choose Windows Photo Viewer and exit the Settings menu, and you're done -- photos will now open up in Windows Photo Viewer.
