Windows 10: Why Does Windows 10/11 Copy and Paste Stop Working After A While?

For the last few months my Copy/Paste will stop working after I've been logged-on for awhile. If I log off and back on no Restart, though, it will start working again... for awhile, that is. It was happening on Windows 10, so I went ahead and upgraded to Windows 11, hoping it would fix the problem, but it didn't.I've looked through other postings, but most of them involve a Restart, which certainly works but so does a simple log off/log on. I generally don't log out at the end of the day, just lock it. Does anyone have a solution other than creating a whole new profile?

Thanks for the suggestion, Bree. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to help in this case. Maybe "corruption" is the wrong word for what's happening to the clipboard. Maybe "captured" - eg. by the remote session - is a more accurate way of describing what's going on. Further experimenting appears to have revealed that I'm still able to copy and paste within each remote session, but not between sessions or between a session and my physical workstation. Annoyingly, however, once it stops working I can't copy (or paste) anything at all on my physical workstation - eg. even within Notepad or Word, etc.

If you could figure out the reason why it stopped working, you wouldn't be here asking for suggestions to fix it.

That is why I suggested System Restore to when it was working.
