Windows 10: Why does Windows 10 act Hinky after waking up after sleep?

Weird, but seemingly harmless. After two times I put the computer to sleep, obviously to save on boot times weird, unpredictable things happen for no apparent reason. --The cursor will not activate any icons or links--The internet will not reconnect, even though the modem is on and the ethernet card wasn't touched, nor the RJ-14 cord.--The explorer just goes away and leave me a blank screen--The file explorer will not let me read from or write to another folder--File folders will not openWhy?So until I find out what I can do about it, the solution is simply to reboot.As usual, Microsoft has ne

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

Sleep / Wake Function, malfunctions after waking

Issues that arise after waking up the PC from sleep mode might have been caused by a software conflict or system file corruption. For us to clarify the issue, we would like to ask these questions:

• What is the exact issue that you are experiencing?
• Did you notice any recent system changes prior to this issue?
• Have you encountered any error message?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

• Click on Start.
• Type Troubleshoot, and then press Enter.

Windows 10 - Wakes immediately from sleep.

Sleep mode saves the state of all open applications to memory, then powers down both the display panel and hard disk drive. However, if it often wakes up from Sleep mode, you need to change the Sleep settings under Power &
sleep. You can also refer this link regarding shutdown, sleep,
or hibernate your PC.

If that doesn’t help, kindly check with the steps listed below and see if it works.

Method 1: Restore default settings of power plan.

Let’s restore the power settings to its default and check if it makes any difference. To do that,

• Go to Control Panel and select Power Options.
  
• Click on Change advanced power settings.
• Select the option Restore default settings for this plan.
