Why Does Windows 10 Creative Situations Where it Disables Itself?

Why isn't Windows 10 designed to regulate it's excessive resource usage to avoid overloading itself?

I have Windows 10 on two computers. One I upgraded. One was preloaded. The same model. One is a year old and the other is older. Both have the basic requirements for running Windows 10.

It activates completely unnecessary processes. Updates have reconfigured the computers to make it worse. It appears designed to overload itself in an effort to self-destruct. Depending on the upgrade, it will disable programs like Edge which in theory it should run without a problem.

I had edited start up. I have followed instructions to try and limit memory use. Success is limited and Windows 10 is designed to override it.

It will suddenly, without warning or purpose, start using all available resources and slow, lag or freeze the system. It will give prompts to activate Defender and whatnot that seems to react badly with my anti virus and make it worse. During upgrades, it will change settings designed to prevent Windows 10 from overloading the computer like switch on start-up programs.

Checking Task Manager will show excessive use when I'm not doing anything. Ending it doesn't always work. Tonight it updated without warning and took over one of my computers.

It's extremely difficult to troubleshoot anything. Comcast and Celtx tech support will blame Windows 10, or user error, for everything. Because Windows 10 is self-destructive and automatically does counterproductive things, it's difficult to argue. Even when it's obvious that it's Comcast or Celtx malfunctioning.

Is there a way to keep Windows 10 from overloading itself? A way it can't override?

    :)

  3. Creative SB X-Fi Sound Card, latest driver, no sound when upgraded to Windows 10 (again)

    Hi Jimoxford1,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when the Creative SB X-Fi Sound system doesn't work as it should.

Please answer these questions to get clarity on this issue:

    1. What is the make and model of the PC?
    2. Which build version is installed on the PC? Press Windows key + R, type winver and press enter to get this information.

Meanwhile, let us now try to disable and enable the Creative SB X-Fi from the Device Manager and check if that helps.

    1. Open Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    3. Right click on Creative SB X-Fi, disable it.
    4. Restart the computer and follow the same steps to enable Creative SB X-Fi.

If that does not help then proceed further with the un-installation of the driver and click on ‘scan for hardware changes’ for the default driver to install.

In the Device Manager window, select Action tab and click on ‘scan for hardware changes’.

    Additional Information.

Fix sound problems in Windows 10’.

Let us know the result of the steps performed so that we can help you further.

    Awaiting your reply.

Why Does Windows 10 Creative Situations Where it Disables Itself?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
