Windows 10: why does Windows 10 require that I have three different directories named "Pictures" and...

There are now three directories/ folders named Pictures.
So they have locations that read, Pictures>Pictures and Pictures>Pictures>Pictures.
I have tried to merge them all into the highest level "Pictures" directory from the lowest to the highest.
Having started the "replacement" choices for duplicates, the Windows 10 transfer freezes and sits on a Time Remaining: "calculating" popup part of the way into the process.
help!?

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder


"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

IWhy an error code "The directory name is invalid" when I tried to upload pictures to Windows 10 the same day upgraded to it?

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the computer.

There could be several reasons for causing this issue like:

a. There might be a file inside the documents folder that needs to be renamed.

b. This issue may also come up if the external hard drive is formatted in FAT32.

and check if it helps:

filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.
