Windows 10: Why does Windows 10 try to force me to create a Hello pin when adding my @live account to...

Work PC, logged into my domain account.I'm trying to add my @live email account to the PC. I go to Settings, Email & accounts, and add my account. I'm asked to sign into my account and I do. Once signed in, I'm presented a modal dialog "Use Windows Hello with your account" which asks me to create a pin.I don't want a f*ing pin. I don't need a f*ing pin. Even when I try to concede and create a f*ing pin it doesn't work. I try to use my account in outlook and it asks for my f*ing pin and it just flat out fails to work, saying that the pin is incorrect.I've taken steps to turn off Windows Hel

Live Tiles for pinned email accounts are not updating Windows 10 phone

Thanks for the reply. I had pinned the individual accounts by going into Outlook Mail, opening the list of accounts, then long-pressing each account and opting to pin them from the context menu that pops up.

I followed your advice, though, which seems to have resolved the problem. Steps taken:

• Unpin all accounts (re-pinning them immediately afterwards did not resolve the problem - merely clear the counter).
• Remove all accounts.
• Restart phone.
• Add all accounts, and check they had all performed initial sync.
• Restart phone.
• Rename mailbox accounts and configure sync, as necessary.
• Restart phone.
• Launch Outlook Mail, and pin each separate mailbox account again.

Lots of "restart phone", but I noted that Outlook Mail was slow in recognising changes made to accounts (renaming them, adding them, etc), so I thought a restart would force Outlook Mail to refresh its data (which it did).

This seems to have done the trick - Live Tiles now update and clear as expected (also fixing the Glance Screen counter). Ideal...! Thanks!

Instead of entering a password, you can sign in quickly with a four-digit PIN. I suggest you to follow the steps below to create a PIN to make sure that you're following the right way :

• Go to Start , and select Settings > Accounts >
  Sign-in options.
• Under PIN, select Add.
• If you don't have a password on your account, you'll need to create a password before you can create a PIN.
• Confirm your current password, and then you can create a PIN.
• Now you can sign in using your four-digit PIN.
