Windows 10: Why does Windows 11 keep changing network settings?

I have a desktop PC and a laptop in different rooms, both running Windows 11. On day one I can access laptop from PC and access PC from laptop. On day 2, I can not access PC from laptop but can access laptop from PC. I check all settings and reboot both several times then all is well for a day or two. On day n, NOTHING works at all on the network, try as I may, I can't get access either way or some times one way. I then have to resort to using flash drive to transfer files. On day x, I redo all settings again and it all works fine! WHY? Is there a way to "LOCK" the settings so nothing chang
