Windows 10: Why does Windows 11 move desktop icons to the left when I rename them?

Hello,a previous thread was locked without solution, why? Settings to grid etc are set accordingly but still happening. Please fix this bug.Please advise.Thanks

You can turn off the automatic sorting of desktop icons in Windows 11 by following these steps:

Right-click on an empty space on the desktop.

Select View from the context menu.

Uncheck the option labeled "Align icons to grid".

This should prevent Windows 11 from automatically sorting your desktop icons. However, you can still sort them manually by right-clicking on the desktop, then selecting "Sort by" and then the sort order you want.

If you ever want to turn it back on, you can follow the same steps, but check the option "Align icons to grid" instead.

2. "Align icons to grid" has another feature that does not affect this problem at all

 

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
