Windows 10: Why does Windows force a restart while work is running??

Why does Microsoft think its a good idea to force a restart on updates? Countless times I've left tasks and applications running over night only to wake up to the machine having restarted and all my work gone.It is the most infuriating feature ever to be created. To the point that I will no longer purchase a Windows based device.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows Service not running at computer startup / restart.

@Samurai - Thanks for the suggestion, but how does this recommendaiton work with an already existing service? Because the service is already listed in the services list, it just refuses to start when set to "Automatic" when I startup or restart the computer. By the looks of the "runaservice" download, it will create a whole new service in the services list, as if I don't currently have one.
