  1. why does windows keep changing my administrator permissions

Why does the windows 10 system keep changing my administrator permissions?????

I was told once again that I am not permitted to "save in this location." and that I have to contact the administrator to obtain permission.

I am the only one that uses this computer, the only one that ever touches the thing, and yet your stupid WYSIWYG keeps changing things when it runs updates.

You people need to fix this problem once and for all.

People have been complaining about this issue for years!!!!!

    :)

    • Press Windows and X key together and select
      Control Panel.
    • Click on Troubleshooting.
    • Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
    • Click on System Maintenance option.
    • Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to perform the below given steps and check if it resolve the permission issue.

    • Right click on the file and click on Properties.
    • Click on Security, check Owner should be "SYSTEM" in
      Advance tab.
    • Now check the save for C:\Users\<username>
    • Owner should also be "SYSTEM"
    • Check the users you signed into windows as (should be your Microsoft account) should be in the "Permissions entries" list with "Full Contol"
    • If not, Add the user you are logged in as.
    • All the folders and sub-folders below should be "owned" by the user you are logged into windows with
importantly, have a permissions entry for "full control"
    • Check for all the related folder where you are getting same error, but for some reason that same user is missing a "Permission Entry". Add a "full control" entry for the user and you should be able to save to that folder
      and all sub-folders

Hope this information helps. Post back with updated issue details for further help.

    Thank you.

  4. why does windows keep changing my administrator permissions

    administrator permissions needed

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per description, you are getting error message "THIS ACTION REQUIRES ADMINISTRATOR PERMISSIONS" using quick books.

I would suggest you to follow the method given below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

Try to run the application as an “Administrator” and check. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    1. Right click the shortcut of the application or the main application.

    2. Select
    properties.

    3. Select
compatibility tab and select "Run this program as an administrator."

If issue still persists try method 2,

    Method 2:

User Account Control (UAC) notifies you before changes are made to your computer that require administrator-level permission. The default UAC setting notifies you when programs try to make changes to your computer, but you can change how often
UAC notifies you. It might be that you have your computer to “Always notify”.

    Always Notify:

You'll be notified before programs make changes to your computer or to
Windows settings that require administrator permissions. This is the most secure setting.

To change the settings in User Account Control follow the steps mentioned below.

    • Press Windows key + X key.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Select User accounts.
    • then click Change User Account Control settings.
    • If prompted by UAC, click/tap on Yes.
    • Move the slider up or down to the setting for how you want to be notified by UAC, and click/tap on
      OK.
Hope the information helps. Please let us know if the issue persist and we will be happy to assist you further.
