Windows 10: Why doesMicrosoft 10 keep installing updates just to ask me to switch to their products?...

Why is it that Microsoft keep installing updates like every day only to try to get me to agree to switch to Microsoft edge browser and install XBox ? I don't want either of them. This is most annoying and slowing down my laptop. Would appreciate any help as I'm losing patience and might switch back to mac : I've been letting the download and restart process have all the time it needs it's always over quite soon so I don't think it's something that hasn't completed. Thanks!!

Just try it through Windows update, you shouldn`t have any issues.

Excellent question Navy, that`s probabaly why. If not then, as suggested, just use the Media Creation Tool and choose upgrade this PC in Step 3.

monthly updates on - Jan. 10. 2024 -

is unusual that. Microsoft promotes its products via updates..

or what, you get is a PopUp. Advertising XBox 360-65 or Edge

A faster way to view and take a picture. From installed updates

is this : open the Control-Panel. Make sure is switched to

large icons, then click on "Program and Features"

After that > Lookup for the link "View Installed Updates" << click on it

it will display the latest-Updates at the - Top of the Page - Find the

last updates of December 2023 and January. 2024 :

Take a picture. With the "Snipping tool"

or some modern browsers,. Like Edge or FFox has a feature called

"Web Capture" once taken one of these. Posted in this

forum. So that can help, others to provide

answers on this issue. Report back

 

Activate windows 10 after re-installing (I have lost my product key)

I own a Lenovo T430 laptop. In 2017, I installed Windows 10 using my original Windows 7 product key. Unfortunately, I cannot find that product key anymore. I need to re-install windows 10. Will it be automatically activated after the installation, if I skip the step of asking the product key during the installation?

In my opinion, I believe that my laptop will have a digital entitlement stored on the Microsoft Activation Servers and this will not be a problem. Is that true?

If not, please suggest me a solution or a workaround.
