Windows 10: why doesn't my caps lock light work

Windows 10 Caps Lock light


Strangely enough, since updating to 9879, the caps lock light on my keyboard does not work.

I know it may seem small but it is really annoying not knowing when caps is on or not. My keyboard is backlit and the keys light up fine but the light on the capslock key does not.

I'm dualing booting with Windows 8.1 and if I switch back to 8.1, the caps lock button light works fine, so I know the light it self is not the problem.

Any suggestions?

This is likely to be one of those where, as I don't know what you've already tried, I'll have spent time suggesting what you have tried.

That's why I asked for a clear list of what you have tried.

Do you see this when you toggle caps lock?

 

Caps Lock and Num Lock lights

Caps Lock and Num Lock lights no longer work after Win 10 upgrade from Win 7

There is no problem with the functionality of the keys - but indicator lights do not work causing major problems. There are many references to this as a problem in Win 10, but nothing to suggest a solution. Given this issue seems to have been present for
nearly 12 months (beta versions of Win 10?) it is strange that there is no solution available yet. The WiFi indicator light works fine - for what its worth.
