Windows 10: Why doesn't my Google Pixel 5A recognize its connection to my Windows 11 computer?

Since my update to Windows 11, I haven't been able to transfer files between my Google Pixel 5A, running Android 13, and my PC. I've tried using multiple USB-C to USB-A cables, but the result is always the same: A very brief "connection" animation and a little lightning bolt icon on the battery icon in the upper right of the 5A's screen, indicating a "charging" connection, and then, within a second, the disappearance of the lightning bolt icon. I am unable even to swipe down the 5A's notification roll to select "Use USB for file transfer," because there is no "Charging this device via USB" not

Hi yall and thanks for the replies!



Unfortunately, the were of no help.



The phone isn`t listed in device manager, the list of devices doesn`t change if I have my phone connected to my computer(s). There are no mystery devices, no yellow triangle -markings or anything even remotely pointing to the direction the phone being connected.

It could be that my phone has a broken usb port, but it makes me wonder that it still charges the battery when connected to a computer.



This is not a big problem for me, that I must admit, but still, it kinda bugs me that the phone doesn`t work the way it`s supposed to work,



Anyways, if somebody comes up with something that might help, I am most grateful.

edit: Also, I have my laptop almost always connected to charger. Tried without charger just for the heck of it, didn`t help.

 

Pixel 4a phone is not being recognized by Windows 10 when I connect it to my pc.

Kindly check and try the steps below and hopefully it works out.

Method 1:

- From your Pixel device open Settings and go to Storage

- Tap the more icon in the top right corner and choose USB computer connection

- From the list of options select Media device (MTP)

- Connect your Android device to your computer and it should be recognized

Method 2:

- Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager

- Find your Pixel device and then right click on it and choose Update Driver Software

- Click on Browse my computer for driver software

- Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

- From the list choose MTP USB Device and click Next

- After the driver has been installed, check if your Pixel is now recognized

Method 3:

- Download and install Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 from the link below
