Windows 10: Why doesn't my wired xbox controller not show up and work on my PC?

Me and my brother were trying to split screen on Portal 2 PC. Since my PC doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities, I told him to remove the batteries and use a USB, He says it vibrated but the light isn't on. I told him it didn't show up on my PC, No Notification, No External Device/controller notification, We even updated the controller on his Xbox, But it still did work. Please help!!!

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.

Xbox One wired Controller doesn't work. Only with GOW


As title says. My Xbox One wired Controller works great with all games I have, except for Gears of War.
Any suggestion?

Hi,

The drivers for Xbox 360 Controllers are automatically installed on Windows 10. If your Xbox 360 wired controller is not detected by your PC, try plugging it into a different USB port, and then test it again.

We also suggest that you install all the critical and important updates on your computer by following the steps on this

link.

Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
