Windows 10: why doesnt windows 10 updates utilize my 32G SD card for extra space when it needs to...

windows 10 latest updates, 3G SD card , Hewlett Packard detatchable 10-pox intel atom x5z8350 cpu 1.44ghz,

ram 2.00gb,64bit operating system x64 based processor.

Win 10 doesn't account for extra drive space using the SD card trick


I have a Samsung 700T tablet (think Surface Pro). It only as a 128GB SSD, but I read about a trick Surface Pro owners use to add extra storage. You format an SD card as NTFS, don't give it a drive letter, then map it to a folder on your C: drive.

It works great - I've added a 128 gig SD card & essentially doubled my storage, but I'm running into one problem. Windows 10 does't count the SD card when it calculates free space. I have all my libraries mapped to the SD card, including my downloads folder. When I try to download something large, Windows reports there isn't enough space & Chrome refuses to download the file.

Is there any way to get the system to recognize the extra space?

Windows 10 upgrader utility not recognising fully functional SD card on PC.

I was prompted to upgrade my Windows 10 to a newer version. I use an ASUS PC. The internal storage is 32 GB. The updater asked me to choose an external storage device for additional 14GB space. I already have a 64 GB sd card installed and fully functional,
with 36GB of free space. The upgrader utility is not recognising the sd card. Please help.
