Windows 10: Why don't I have notepad, calculator or calendar on my windows 11 OS

I'm not sure why this is happening, but these apps seem missing from my install. I'm running Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.Thank you

Getting the old version of Notepad on Windows 11

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you.

Here's the steps you can try.

-Right-click on the Start button and select Settings from the menu.

-On the list on the left-hand side, select Apps.

-From the right pane, select Optional features.

-Click on View Features corresponding to Add an Optional feature.

-Search for Notepad from the list and check the box associated with it.

-Click on Next. On the next page, click on Install.

Reboot the system after Notepad has been installed.

LACK OF: Calendar and other Tools. Will there be an update for these things to be added?

Will there be any updates giving the phone

• a Calendar?
• other tools (calculator, notepad)?
• a better navigation system?

 

Windows 11 Closes Phone Link, Notepad, Paint & Calculator When Sleeping

The re-install of Windows 11 did not make any difference. I believe that a change made in Windows 11 is causing the problem.

Checked all Microsoft Windows 11 OS Installed Programs to see what they do after sleep.

Fail to stay open:

Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Clock, Cmd, Get Help, Get Started, Maps, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft To Do, Movies & TV, Notepad, Paint, Paint 3D, Phone Link, Quick Assist, Settings, Skype, Snipping Tool, Sticky Notes, Terminal (Windows PowerShell), Tips, Weather, Windows Security

Stay open:

Hyper-V Manager, File Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Media Player, Mixed Reality Portal, PC Health Check, Photos, Sound Recorder, Video Editor, Wordpad, Windows Tools

All 3rd Party and Office Applications stay open after a Sleep, even my 2008 version of WinZip.

A new update of Windows 11 must have reduced the list of programs that stay open after a Sleep.

Below are important Applications to me that should stay open but do not:

Notepad: Need to stay open since it is a program I use often and not saving files is a real loss.

Paint: Need to stay open since it is a program I use often and not saving files is a real loss.

Cmd: Not a terrible loss, but work can be lost since have to start all work over again.

Phone Link: Pain to have to reopen every time, but I can live with it since after sleep when it did stayed open, I often had to close and reopen it to get it to re-connect correctly to my phone.
Terminal (Windows PowerShell): Not a terrible loss, but work can be lost since have to start all work over again.
