Windows 10: Why don't my apps open by clicking the taskbar popup?

I have recently run into this problem with the taskbar. Single apps, like outlook, will open if I click the icon in the taskbar. But when there are multiple windows, like different word or pdf docs, hovering over the icon brings up the popups for the different instances. Clicking on one SHOULD open it and used to, but this doesn't work anymore. One workaround I have found with Firefox I usually have three or four windows running is if I right click the icon, right click again to close the resulting menu, then try one of the popups, it works! Strange behavior! Anyone having this problem and

Nice, no answers what so ever... still can`t open new notifications, still right-click don`t work on taskbar... and still no answer as to why

 

In Windows 11 Chrome open only in taskbar as a tile? The rest the apps on taskbar open.

Try these steps please :

Close chrome by pointing to it and then clicking on the cross on the popup view.

Then right click on chrome icon in all apps list

Click on more then on open file location.

In the window that opens right click on chrome icon then click on properties.

In properties panel choose maximized in the dropdown against "run"

Click on apply then ok.

Reopen chrome after this.

If you right click on non-working document, can you remove it from list?
