Windows 10: Why has battery capacity suddlenly dropped?

On my ASUS ZenBook laptop, battery problems developed last week:the laptop will only run off the chargerwhen the charger is removed, the laptop stops working instantly.light by charger port normally not on at all, whereas used to show red when battery was being charged.ASUS utility suggests that the battery is 100% chargedbattery seemingly never charges: it shows 83% charged yet the battery capacity is at c.4200 mWh via the battery test facility, original 68 000 MWh when newso, it seems that the battery has failed. Is there any software tweak that could help eg. update BIOS?

Battery capacity rapid drop

I have a 4-month-old MSI Modern laptop with core i3 10110u 128Gb storage 8Gb ram. Very much base model type business laptop. I noticed recently my battery life was significantly less than it was the first month or so.

Doing a battery report I noticed full capacity was now 31Wh vs new was 39Wh. MSI support suggested doing a battery calibration which I did, but another report after that showed the same loss of capacity. Now I am starting to think maybe the battery is defective, or is not charging discharging correctly? What are the criteria for the PC maker to determine the battery needs to be replaced under warranty.

My laptop battery capacity dropped significantly.

So I just purchased a new battery for my laptop. The design capacity of the battery is 90,005 whr. I ran a battery report on the battery the first day and it looked great it actually charged past the design capacity at 91,000 whr. But I checked in on it today (two days after installing the battery) to see how it did after it first charge cycle and it dropped a huge amount. Right now it sitting at about 80,400 whr. Is this some kind of malfunction? I have tried calibrating the battery by draining it completely and charging completely to no avail. Hopefully it’s some software issue that can be resolved. Responses would be greatly appreciated.
