Windows 10: Why has my laptop suddenly started using F2 to sleep instead of turning volume down and how...

For years I would press Fn+F2 to turn volume down and Fn+F3 to turn it up. However since yesterday Fn+F2 is now making the laptop sleep or hibernate (unsure which it is sorry).

I am so used to pressing it for volume that I keep doing it over and over. Does anyone know how I change it back so that Fn+F2 controls volume again?

I have not seen any updates in the last 2 days so not sure why this is happening.

PC restarts instead of waking from sleep

Hello,

Lately my laptop has been shutting down instead of waking from sleep mode. Whenever I put my laptop to sleep, whether through closing the laptop or through the start menu, when I wake my computer the turns on then suddenly restarts without anything appearing
on the screen. I have restored my power settings to default and the problem still persists. How do I get my PC to wake normally.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried the two steps (turning of Hybrid sleep and Fast startup) you suggested but to no avail. Okay, for your two questions:

1. My laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-bf101tx, and currently running Windows 10 1903 (upgrading from 1809).
2. Nope. No error messages. I suppose the boot process was successful, however, my battery was reduced. That's why I suggest the post title as "Hibernating changes to sleep behaviour" because the battery level reduction looks like sleep behaviour.

Please inform me of any diagnostics information you might need. Thank you for your kind assistance.
