Windows 10: Why has my Speaker Icon on the Taskbar quit working?

I can no longer adjust the speaker sound with the Task Bar Speaker Icon. I brought up the Speaker settings and tried to set it that way, but then got Error "Run Time Broker,exe". I right clicked the Task Bar Icon to bring up Troublshoot but that did not come up either. So I went to settings and ran the Audio Troubleshooter. Finally was able to adjust speaker from Speaker Settings, but the Task Bar Icon still will not come up to adjust from that Icon. Any suggestions are welcome.

I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works. This issue could be because of the Headphones BT SPEAKER Stereo being set as default. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Pair the speaker with your PC.
  
• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Sound, video, and game controllers
  and right click on your Bluetooth speaker (BT SPEAKER Stereo).
  
• Choose Disable and acknowledge the confirmation popup. Wait for the screen to refresh.
  
• Right click on the same device again and Enable.
  
• Exit Device Manager and see if the issue persist.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

realtek speaker icon in the taskbar

I had to disable items in my start menu so that I could run Laplink PCMover. Now that it is complete I can't get the speaker icon back on the taskbar! Any suggestions?
