    Why has my Windows 10 desktop Slideshow stopped altering? It used to work but no longer does.


    I have my desktop background set on Slideshow and it's supposed to change the picture once a minute but now the only way to get it to change is to literally right click the desktop and click the display and when that display menu loads up the desktop shifts to a new picture… ONCE it’s supposed to do it every minute and it usedto do this even when it was in the background with other windows open can someone please help?FYI I run Windows 10 Home 64bit Version 21H2 OS Build 19044.1586

    Slideshow stop working on window 10

    Let's troubleshoot things further by doing the following steps then see how it goes.

    • Right click on your desktop and choose Personalize.
    • Choose Background and choose Slideshow.
    • Choose the correct album for your slideshow.
    • Choose 1 minute.
    • Choose On for Shuffle.
    • Save Settings.

    Desktop Slideshow Stops Working

    I've been experiencing an issue where the desktop setting will change itself from slideshow to picture. I go back and change it again to slideshow and it will work for a couple of days, but always switches itself back to picture and stops on whatever photo
    was on when it happened.

    I'm using Windows 10 on a desktop. The photos are on a local SSD drive. Power settings are set to never put the computer to sleep, etc. Advanced power settings are set to have it available both when plugged in and on battery (even though it's a desktop).


    I'm really stumped.

    There's a rather convoluted way involving custom libraries and the control panel settings for wallpaper here on Superuser...
