Windows 10: Why has One Note deleted all my files on my laptop?

One Note Sync has deleted all my files on my laptop. I have nothing in the files with all the red circle X's. They seem to all have transfered to One Note which is something I DID AUTHORIZE. It happened automatically. Now I suddenly don't have disk space to pull them back. When I try to open them on One Note they are empty. I have 8 years worth of work backed up on there. What is going on here? I am refuse to pay for more storage because I don't use OneNote EVER. I would like someone from Microsoft to help me reacquire my files. Very upset after over a decade of Microsoft support and now this

Can't delete unused Sticky Notes neither change their colors

Thank you for using Windows10.

I understand your concern and would suggest that you try deleting the sticky note from the source location of the sticky notes from the specific user account.

The AppData folder in the below step is a hidden folder, try the below step to unhide it and later try the steps mentioned.

Steps to unhide:

• Open File Explorer by right click on Start Icon
  and select File Explorer.
• Click on View and check Hidden items.

Try the below step to delete the sticky note:

a) Open File Explorer.

b) Navigate to the following location:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes.

c) In the Stick notes
folder you will find a file called StickyNotes.snt

d) You will need the file named StickyNotes.snt

Note: If you delete StickyNotes.snt
file this will delete all the sticky notes present on the computer event the new ones.

Make sure that you backup any newly created sticky notes.

Unable to delete a file

There are a lot of possible reason why the issue occurs, we suggest that you access
safe mode
and
delete the files there. If the same issue occur,
reboot
your PC and run these following
methods of troubleshooting
steps:

Method 1:
Run SFC Scan.  

To run an
SFC scan, follow these steps:  

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type
  sfc /scannow
  and hit
  Enter.   
  

Method 2:
Run DISM Tool.  

To run
DISM Tool, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type the following command:  
  
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth  
    
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth  
    

NOTE:
This might take a while to finish scanning.
Do not cancel. 

Method 3: Clean Boot.

Note:
Reset the computer back to
Normal Mode
once you are done with the troubleshooting by following the section
"How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting"
