Windows 10: Why has the latest Windows update stopped my brightness settings working?

Windows has updated 08/03/2022 and I am now longer able to adjust the brightness settings on my laptop.Build version 25314.rs_prerelease.230303-1411.I uninstalled the update I was able to adjust brightness again. Windows has again reinstalled the update and back to square one.I have checked for updated drivers for my graphics adapter as everything is up to date.Any suggestions? The update has made my screen not bright enough.

Have tried few steps from youtube videos but did not work.

Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

wishful thinking that one.. largely because for some hardware a driver that is compatible with latest windows incarnation dosnt exist.. and the makers wont bother making one..

i just had it happen with the win 10 anniversary update.. lenovo drivers that worked fine stopped working after the update.. my laptop lost some of its functionality.. windows wont find any compatible driver because no such thing exists.. MS dosnt care and the hardware makers dont ether where older hardware is concerned..

i lost my screen orientation buttons.. i rolled it back and they worked but no way could i get them working with the latest windows update.. i can do it with software just like the op can adjust his brightness.. but its still annoying..
