Windows 10: Why has Windows 11 update has made font on my laptop fuzzy?

Installed Windows 11 and the only way to describe the font is fuzzy and broken up. Tried to uninstall but can't. Help this is unbearable!

Creators update results in fuzzy fonts

Four days ago my laptop (Gigabyte P34W-V5 1920x10080) did the Creators Update (CU). Afterwards, the all font rendering on my external display (Acer B326HUL 2560x1440) are so fuzzy I can hardly read them (laptop screen is fine). All fonts, desktop icons,
apps, browsers, and even the icons?? in the task bar look fuzzy. I searched the problem, tried a few things, nothing worked, so I backed out of the update and everything was fine again, but then it downloaded the Creators Update again and keeps pestering me
to install it. I turned off cleartype, turned it on again and went through the steps, nothing work. So, I used online support 3 times:

1) tech said it is a non-Microsoft (MS) service problem, and a 50% chance it is Kaspersky. So, I reinstalled CU, uninstalled Kaspersky, and clean booted with only MS services to see what was causing the problem. No improvement with all non-MS services disabled,
back to the drawing board. Tech suggested I could rollback CU and disable updates, but that has too many security problems for me to accept.

2) next tech said probably an incompatible driver problem. Updated nvidia drivers, intel drivers, displaylink drivers, and switched to direct HDMI rather than displaylink (USB). No improvement.

3) tried again this morning, tech said she wanted to get latest nvidia drivers, I said they were already there, and I needed to go to a meeting. I re-installed nvidia drivers just in case, no improvement.

So, now I have an expensive laptop and monitor, with a display that looks worse than my 90's VGA (although at a higher resolution).

I am very, very unhappy that the latest and greatest win10 leaves me with a nearly unusable system, and nobody has a fix. Anyone have an idea?

The first part of the article is about specific apps with problems, which is not my issue (all fonts everywhere are fuzzy).

I tried the little app it referred to, and used the 8.1 scaling (reboot, no change) as well as the 10 scaling (followed by 2 reboots, no change).

I'm not the only one with this problem, a search on "windows creators update fuzzy fonts" seems to indicate a lot of people in the same boat as me, but no available solution yet.

All seems a little surprising, I'm not running a very unusual setup...

fuzzy/blurry font and icons. How to Fix ?


I'm experiencing fuzzy/blurry font and icons for some of the applications. For example: Dell touchpad circular scrolling icon is fuzzy, while on 8.1 it was fine. Even the text in Device manager is fuzzy, while on the properties window of this PC it is fine. See below:-










Please help.
