as above all my Word documents have changed to Word pad since the update 2 days ago this is the first time ive got on the computer and about to run an payroll and I cant use any of documents. Please can you help?

Converting documents from word pad to microsoft word

When I installed Windows 10 all my word documents became word pad documents. I never installed word pad on my computer. I updated Microsoft office to 2016 and was able to convert word pad documents back to word documents. All's well that ends well.

How can I clear the recent documents list in Word Pad?

 

Short cut in changing Word Pad default to Word in Windows 10

Unaware of what the cause was, I get a Word Pad default every time I try to open my Word file.

Here is a few simple steps I did:

Right Click on Word Pad

Setting

Properties

General

Click om Word Pad and change to Word (Icon appears)
