Windows 10: Why have my document files suddenly become inaccessible?

One of the family computers has Windows 10S installed, and suddenly most of the document files on that computer cannot be found. The Systems Storage setting shows a document holding of 31gb with a multitude of files as implied by the size, but File Explorer and Word etc only allow access to seven documents. The problem will have happened in the last few days – when the main pictures folder was reviewed with some substantial photo deletion. All the expected remaining photos are still accessible. How can I best diagnose the problem? I am optimistically hoping for recovery of files from

To sort your documents in your File Explorer by date, we suggest following the steps below:

• Type File Explorer in Cortana search box to open File Explorer.
• Go to the folder that you want to sort.
• Click on View that is located on the top part of the window.
• Click on Sort by.
• Choose Date.

Your files should be sorted by date with this option.
