Windows 10: Why have the calendar category colors changed?

Today when I opened my calendar, the category colors were all changed. They are muted and look very nice - however I can't tell the difference between categories. There used to be a yellow that is now a muted tan, which looks very close to what used to be brown and orange. If being able to spot categories quickly is the purpose of using categories, why is the pallet so limited? Please do one of two things: restore the previous color scheme which had more differentiation between colors, or allow me to select colors by choosing from a color wheel like Word allows me to choose the color for a fon

Outlook Calendar Color Category Keeps Changing / Reverting

I am using MS 365 on a windows 10 PC. In outlook calendar, my Color Categories or "Categorize" color function stopped working a few months ago. (pre windows 10). All of my custom color categories disappeared and the Categorize Color tab reverted to the standard "Blue Green ... etc." My custom descriptions are still in each specific calendar entry - however they're grayed out. If I re-do the whole thing, it lasts for a few hours (at most) then reverts again. I have tried some troubleshooting that lasts for a short time, then reverts again. I cannot contact any support at MS, but have tried. Any help is appreciated.

The option to change the calendar color to categorized them is currently unavailable. Prior to that, we suggest that you provide feedback for the application. Just click
Start menu then type Windows Feedback and sign in with your Microsoft account.

Thank you for the details. Changing the color of an appointment on Calendar for Windows 10 depends on the Calendar category under the Calendar group. As an example, see the images below:





Under the Love category, the appointments are yellow. If we change the color to pink, then all appointments will be pink.





To fill the background of the appointment with pink, follow the steps below:

• Right-click an appointment you want to add a background.
• Click Show As, then select Busy. If not, the letters of the appointment itself will be colored.
