    Undervolting with hypervisor / virtual machine for WSL2

    Hello Wesley,

    Hello! I understand that you are looking to undervolt your CPU while running CFD on a laptop.

    Undervolting can help improve performance by limiting or eliminating throttling.

    However, it appears that Windows 11 restricts the ability of software like Intel's XTU

    or ThrottleStop from controlling core voltages.

    I found a thread on the Microsoft Community forum where a user had a similar issue and was looking for a solution.

    One of the replies suggested using a program called PowerMonkey

    to set the undervolt values before VBS locks down the registers ¹.

    Another option is to turn off virtualization-based security (VBS) in Windows 11,

    which is known to interfere with undervolting software.

    However, this may not be an ideal solution for you as you require hypervisor/virtual machine functions

    of Windows to run CFD code on Linux in WSL 2 ¹.

    GNS3 Virtualization Issue in Windows 11

    Dear All,

    Seem like there is an issue with the Windows 11, GNS3 VM run in Virtualbox, and VMware Workstation Pro appear to issue that VT-x is false or otherwise. My CPU supports this feature, and I did some research. They suggested disabling Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Memory Integrity and running some commands to disable the services hypervisor, and still, it doesn't work. The best thing is, in Windows 10, there is no issue at all. Hopefully, there is a solution that can solve this.
