Media Creation Tool not working March 2023

The March 2023 Windows 10 update messed up my PC and got stuck in an auto-repair loop. Tried everything and some more, no dice. No going back to previous restore points, no rolling back of last update no nothing.

So I decided to make a new bootable repair disc using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. Bought a brand-new 64 GB flash drive, downloaded and installed MCT. First step went OK, second step, installing, got stuck at 50% and mentioned something went wrong, error code 0x800700B7 - 0xA001B.

Something was already installed on the drive, so I deleted and reformatted the drive. Then I tried again with some tricks like activating some Windows services, disabling anti-virus etc, copying the MCT onto the drive and start installation from there. Nada, nic, nothing; same problem at 50%.

So switched to a brand new (one week old) HP laptop and tried to make the repair drive there. The error message did not pop up yet, but its already half an hour stuck on the 50% mark.

So the W10 March 2023 update messed up my OS and cannot repair itself and the MCT does not work so I cannot make a repair drive to get this PC back to work.

Any suggestions?

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
