Windows 10: why i cant connect my domain to my ad server in hyper-v

i tried to join usingdomain\username and passwordusername and passwordit says unable to join even i can ping my server

How do connect to a Hyper-V server without a domain?

So I just got Hyper-V, and I wanted to connect to it from another computer without a domain, but I couldn't set it up so that I can connect to it without a domain. All the time I try to connect to the server, it simply denies connections. How do I make it
allow connections without a domain?

 

Remote Hyper-V Management Access Denied in an AD Environment.

I have a small home environment consisting of some Windows 10 workstations (and a Windows 7 machine) and a Hyper-V host. The Hyper-V host runs Windows Server 2016 Standard (Server Core) and has a Windows Server 2016 Standard (Server Core) VM, configured
with AD as a PDC, DNS and File Services server. I additionally have various *nix VM's running unrelated services. The Hyper-V host is also a domain member.

The problem I am having is that I cannot remotely manage the Hyper-V host. Server Manager displays "Online - Access Denied", whilst Hyper-V Manager gives an incorrect username/password error. In both instances, I am logged in with my domain account, which
is a member of both "Domain Admins" and "Hyper-V Administrators". Additionally, I have added my domain account to the local administrators group on the Hyper-V host (as a test, though this should not be necessary).

My domain credentials work on my other machines on the network, and I can also log into the Hyper-V host physically with them.

I have tried removing the Hyper-V host from the domain and re-adding it, to no avail.

I have been reading the documentation online and it seems that for a Hyper-V host to be managed on a domain, one needs only login with a domain administrator account. Does anybody have any experience of a similar situation?

problems configure connecting remote to hyper v server

Hey Guys,

iam a trainee in IT in my second year and for the next half year of my traineship. So next half year i try to learn as much as possible about windows client/server.

I set up a BareMetal-Hyper-Visor with Hyper V 2019 and now wanna connect to it remotley with my Windows 10 Client.

I followed instructions here:

Both Computers are in the same Workgroup called hyper and i enabled on both machines ping. Both machines can ping each other. From the network side everything looks ok.

The Computers are still not in a domain, because i want to virtualize the domaincontroller on the Hyper Visor.

But i struggle get remote connection done. I followed the instructions:

Connect to a Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10 remote host outside your domain, or with no domain Remotely manage Hyper-V hosts | Microsoft Learn

Step: 2 Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value "fqdn-of-hyper-v-host"

I Entered this into Powershell:

Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value "HyperVServer1"

What is "fqdn-of-hyper-v-host"? Is this the name of the hyper V host?

The Output was:

I already tried installing installing WinrM on the hyper V host but still the same Problem.

Can someone help me with this?
