Windows 10: Why I dont have the wslg?

    Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview - 1.0.27 Install error - 0x80070643

    Recently, Windows Update in Windows 11 22H2 offered me the Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview - 1.0.27. I told it to download and install it. It won't install. Every time I try to re-install it, I get the same Install error - 0x80070643. The Event log gets two errors for the attempt:

    Event 20, WindowsUpdateClient:

    "Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview - 1.0.27."

    and

    Event 11714, MsiInstaller:

    "Product: Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview -- Error 1714. The older version of Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612."

    And, that last one is interesting because, AFAIK, I don't have an "older version of Windows Subsystem for Linux WSLg Preview" to BE removed.

    How do I clear this download out of Windows Update? How would I get it to actually install?

    Windows 10, 1607: What i dont like.

    Same comment here. I also have an expanded list of all "apps" in my start list. Someone suggested Classic Shell. I tried it for a while but would rather just clean up the Start provided with Windows. If there's a way to get rid of the expanded Apps list, I'd like to try it.
