  1. Why I keep seeing this 2 folders in This PC left side panel?

I'm quite frustrated with this recurring issue. It's constantly displaying duplicate folders, "Desktop" and "Downloads," within the "This PC" section, even though I've already added them to Quick Access. To make matters worse, sometimes this problem subsides only to be replaced by other folders like "Documents" and "Pictures." Is there a potential solution to prevent this from occurring, perhaps through a registry key or some other means?

    :)

How Do I Add Recent FILES (not items or folders) to Left Content Panel

How do I add my "recent files" to the left content panel in Win10 (19041.508 build)? I recently purchased a new laptop, and it only seems to show recent folders. On my other laptop, I could see a list of folders and files on the left content panel in windows explorer. It was a very convenient feature that I used quite a lot.

How do I get it back? So far, I have only been able to enable it via Quick Access, but I actually want to see the list of recent files under my recent folders like I did before on the left-hand side.

  3. I couldn't access a shared folder between the laptop and the PC?- Windows 10.

    Hi,

Provide us with the below details for better clarity on the issue.

    • What happens exactly when you try to access the share folder?
    • Do you get any error message?

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the shared folder troubleshooter as below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

Method 2: I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings.

    • Go to your hard drive and right-click the folder that's causing all the trouble.
    • Click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab
    • Then click Advanced
    • You'll see a window with some usernames. Now click Owner in the tabs above.
    • Click Edit, then select the username you wish to be able to open the folder and be sure to check the box that says "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" then hit Apply.
    • A pop up will come up that says something like 'You have replaced the ownership for the selected folders' or something in that manner.

Please get back to us with an update on this issue, we will be happy to help.

    Thank you

Why I keep seeing this 2 folders in This PC left side panel?

Duplicated folder on LEFT column of This Pc

I don't think this is the same; I know that after every major upgrade I have to edit the registry to get rid of the duplicated fixed hard drives shown BELOW This PC. Look at my screen shot - the RIGHT side Folders are just as wanted. The LEFT however has a spurious F:\ entry - which is my Videos folder, also listed on the Left. Both point correctly to my videos folder. I don't want the spurious F:\ entry, assume it came about when moving my Videos from their default location on to a seperate drive of their own - as I have done fine with my Music folder as well. Thanks regardless, and if anyone has any other thoughts or suggestions. For example, is the This PC layout defined in the registry, and if so where. I assume it is, given the messing around with duplicate entries already mentioned.
