Windows 10: Why i wasn't aware of bitlocker?

I’m currently locked out of my laptop due to BitLocker asking for a recovery key. I was not aware that BitLocker was enabled on my system, and I never set up or received any recovery key.I have already checked my Microsoft account and there is no BitLocker recovery key linked to it. When I tried to request access, I was told to wait for 30 days—but unfortunately, I cannot afford to wait that long. I urgently need access to my laptop for important and time-sensitive work.Please assist me in disabling BitLocker or finding another way to access my device. I did not knowingly enable this feature,

Microsoft BitLocker encryption cracked in just 43 seconds...

The headline is misleading. The TPM was cracked, BitLocker wasn´t. I wouldn´t expect too much security of a TPM in a 10-year old laptop...

 

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.
