Windows 10: Why is a Windows PIN the only sign in option? Why are passwords not allowed on WIndows 11 now??

I just had an issue where my PIN stopped working a memory error and I had to reset it from my phone just to log in. When I got my new computer I was already hesitant about the microsoft PIN, but now I have lost all confidence in it and have been trying to change my sign in on my computer to a regular password. Except, Microsoft just decides to delete the option entirely! On my settings, there isn't even an option for passwords. I can't deal with PIN issues at random times and I want to get rid of it immediately. I don't see why I need microsoft to validate my identity anyways, just let me us

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.

Forgot PIN, No other options for signing in on windows 11, just PIN.

Hello. I’m having some issues signing into my Windows 11 laptop.

When I enter the sign-in screen, it only gives me an option to sign in with my PIN, which I have forgotten. There is no option to sign in with a password, nor does it let me say that I forgot my PIN.

How do I enter my laptop when I don’t know my PIN and there are no other ways to sign in on Windows 11?
