Windows 10: Why is CSGO making my computer sound bad?

There's an issue with my audio. It's normally fine when just using my computer but when I launch CSGO, the audio changes to a much less processed quality and changes my entire computer's sound. As an example, when I listen to my Spotify, the songs sound very good and processed but when I launch CSGO, there is an extremely noticeable difference in processing of the sound of my songs and they sound really bad. Also, I'm using wireless headphones if that changes anything.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

 

can't start CSGO with build 14352

Thanks for reporting the issue. We recently added this feature (visible Game Bar on full-screen games) based on customer feedback. We did test a wide range of hardware, so I'm surprised to hear this isn't working for you. Here's what I suggest:

• Record a video of your monitor, of you launching CS:GO and it crashing.
• Grab a screenshot of your CSGO game settings if you can (you might need an older build or a different machine).
• From Start, launch dxdiag.exe and save all information to dxdiag.txt
• Launch the Feedback Hub, go to the Apps & Games category, Game DVR subcategory.
• Add new feedback, mark it as a Problem (important).
• Attach the video, the screenshot and the dxdiag file.
• Click the "Begin monitoring" button & try to launch CSGO again.
• Click the "Stop monitoring" button after CSGO has crashed.
• Click the "Submit" button to send the bug to us.
