    Why is File Manager window transparent?


    Hi, I'm running Windows 10 on my HP Envy. When I have multiple windows open, the top window often goes semi-transparent, where the underlying window is faintly displayed. This especially happens with File Explorer when Solitaire is the bottom window. The portion of File Explorer which is overlaying the Solitaire screen is different colors, sometimes white and unreadable, and looks a bit like a printed page when the printer is out of ink. Some parts of the File Explorer window have a faded version of the window below the scroll bars, for example.Screenshots are displayed properly with

    Transparent windows in Linux?

    Ok, I've been looking at some screenshots of Linux, and somehow they manage to get transparent windows.
    I've been doing some research on Google, but didn't find anything on how to make my windows transparent!
    So, does anyone know how to make them transparent? (as in, being able to see the window behind another window, text "floating" above the desktop, etc)

    Why is File Manager window transparent?

    Transparent windows in Linux?

    I have never run linux, but I know the "beryl" package adds a TON of visual effects and tools. I think the name "beryl" has been adopted to something else, but you can google it.
