Windows 10: Why is is taking forever for my downloads to be saved?

Hello,I am having an issue after updating my browser to where when I save my downloads it just sits there. It still is in the middle of downloading.I've restarted my computer and nothing works.

Downloads Folder takes forever to open - tried everything!

Hallo,My downloads folder takes forever to open, sometimes minutes before it has loaded every item.It is a common problem, and I've googled for answers but none of them seem to help. I've tried to right click on properties, and under customize set to general items, didn't work. I clicked on File Explorer and changed "show or hide" File extensions, but didn't work.Any suggestions?! Thanks!!

Save As dialog box taking forever in Windows 10

When I try to download a file (any type), particularly a csv file from my web based CRM, in Chrome the dialog box gets hung up and takes forever to eventually give me the option of saving it to a folder. This is making it impossible to download and save
files. This seems to have cropped up only in the past few days. I added exclusions of all the files types in Windows Defender and even turned off the real time monitoring. Nothing has helped so far.
