Cannot add contacts personal folders to address book in Outlook 2016

Many thanks for all your suggestions, HippsieGypsie, but nothing seems to be working. I cannot delete my folder so I have to keep trying to get it included in the list of available address books. My contacts are all in the Contacts - Personal Folders, but this list is not included amongst those offered by Outlook as a default address book.

 

Deleting contacts from Windows 10


When you say Windows Mail Live are you referring to Mail app or Windows Live Mail?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open Windows Live Mail.
• Press Ctrl + 3 using your keyboard. Right-click on the contact to delete it if it is a single contact.
• Highlight all contacts by pressing Ctrl + A.
• Click Delete located on the Ribbon bar.
• Click OK when you see the message These contacts will also be deleted from Hotmail, Messenger, and other Windows Live services.

After following the steps above, all your contacts that you have manually added to your account will be deleted however, contacts coming from third-party sites such as Facebook will not be deleted unless you remove Facebook from your account.

For Mail app:

Open People app then delete the contact.

Phone starting new conversation threads for same contact

Hello, and thank you for the response!

I tried several things after noticing that the phone had started a new thread with a contact. I tried re-adding and deleting the Facebook account multiple times. Only after the first time deleting the Facebook account did it create a new thread for one
of my contacts. That contact was linked between Windows Live and Facebook, which I am guessing was probably the reason that it happened the first time. I was thinking maybe it was just an anomaly since even after re-adding it after the first incident and deleting
it did not cause it to start a new thread again. I currently have the Facebook account off the phone, though, so I no longer need to worry about that. One way that I was able to replicate it was by deleting the contact from the list and then re-adding it by
actually typing the number in myself through the contacts list. After re-adding that person, the next text they sent me would be in a brand new thread with the old one no longer receiving texts from that number. Another thing I noticed was that when I deleted
the contact that I was unable to add them by clicking their number in the list of conversation threads.

Obviously this is not a huge problem for me as all the texts from the old thread are still there. I am just curious if there is a certain reason why this happened or if this is a sign of a malfunction or anything of the sort. I realize I will probably
not be able to get it back to receiving texts from a contact in the older thread but, like I said, I am fine with that.
