Windows 10: Why is it saying A newer version is installed when i try to install Visual C++ 2013?

Hi there, I'm trying to play "A Way Out" through EA on my PC, but whenever I get to the end of the download, it asks me to download Visual C++ 2013. When I download it, another error code says a newer version is installed. I've gone through the steps of looking through my registry editor to find out if I need to uninstall, but that was a dead end. Nothing is working, and I don't know how to fix this. It would be much appreciated if anyone knows or can help fix this solution. Thank you.

Error 0x80070641 - I can't install newer versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables

Please uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ completely from the computer and then install the newer versions.

# Step 1: Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++

a. Type control panel in start menu > Programs > Programs and Features > uninstall a program

b. Locate all ( Microsoft Visual C++ ) from the list of installed programs.

c. Click on it and then select “Uninstall”.

d. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart the computer if prompted.

# Note: If you cannot find Microsoft Visual C++ in the installed programs list, go to step

2 to install the latest version.

# Step 2: Install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++

to download and install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ components on the computer.

a. Click on this link to download the latest version of Visual C++ Redistributable Package.

b. After the download, run the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the package.

c. Restart the computer, if prompted.

Note> Make sure that your operating system is with the latest updated

First - which one is up to THEM and they told you to install the 32-bit version (x86 part of the name) so...

Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (x86) install fails

The software is buggy. If later versions of MS Visual C++ runtimes are installed it fails to detect them and tries to install earlier versions which breaks those MS Visual C++ runtime installations.








Allowing the install to continue doesn't allow those runtimes to install (because you can't install an earlier version over a later version) and it breaks the already installed versions. (They now show as 0 bytes)

I cannot test to see if the program will run (I suspect that it won't work anyway) as I don't have MS Office.

Suggest:

Remove those two VC++ Runtime versions if they already exist and reboot. Then try running the Dymo installer and see if it will install the earlier versions of VC++
